Thursday Tag #7: Readers Confession Tag

Greetings Book People!

One day when I was googling bookish tags, I found this tag written by Samantha, Holleye and Anna from Spines and Covers. You guys should really check her post out!

Let’s get into the tag!

1. Have you ever damaged a book?

Never on purpose! I once put my Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire book in my bag while going to class and the next moment I found that the spine of the book has slightly broken! I also had accidentally left my book in my car under the scorching Sun and the book was damaged!

I hate it when I unintentionally dog-earned few pages while reading because it could damage the pages! 😦

2. Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?

Never! I would take care the borrowed book better than my own. I would never betray someone’s trust.

3. How long does it take you to read a book?

If the book has approximately 400 pages, I could finish the book within a week. If I am reading on iBooks, I could take only 2 days to finish it. I once brought my book to a vacation with family, but I could not make myself read AT ALL. I felt I have to do something like exploring, playing tourist other than reading. That is why I am so jealous and amazed to people who can read during vacation.

4. Books that you haven’t finished?

I have DNF’d Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I just could not connect with world at all. I found the story to be not suitable for me because I felt like the plot was too heavy. I read around 20 pages, and just abandoned it.

5. Hyped/popular books you didn’t like only thought were OK?

They are not much, because I am a really pleased reader. I could be pleased by any book as long as it is my favourite genre.

I hate to break it to you guys, but I found that The Savage Song by Victoria Schwab and the Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard to be rather boring. I could not find any specialties or good points in the books. However, I will like to try to read the A Darker Shade of Magic soon!

6. Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?

I will never be ashamed or embarrassed of the books I read. Books are sacred things that bring us knowledge and fine moral values! I would be honoured to share my thoughts on my favourite book with a stranger in a bus anytime, any day.

7. How many books do you own?

I have loads!! I could not count it, mainly because I will get fuzzy eyes from seeing and counting too much books! I still have my childhood reads with me and I will feel sad if I give them away!

8. Are you a fast or slow reader?

I am a fast reader on iBooks but a slow reader for physical books. It is just I want to savour and enjoy the time of holding and reading a physical book. Not to mention, I love sniffing the pages!

9. Do you like to buddy read?

I’ve never done one before, but I’d really like to do it sometime! It sounds really fun.

10. Do you read better in your head or out loud?

In my head, definitely. I occasionally read out loud, when nobody’s home. I also often listen to audiobooks as well!

11. If you were only allowed to own ONE book, what would it be and why?

I am still racking my brain for this answer! I have to say any of the Harry Potter books will do, because it is my MOST favourite series of all time and I will NEVER get bored with reading it! I just cannot choose one!

Tags are always fun like that! Till next time!

  2. I accidentally made a 1 inch size slice on the cover of wonder Woman when I got it in the mail the other day! I was trying to open it the correct way and the glue was stuck so I used a knife to open the package. I almost cried, lol! I am so OCD about the condition of my books!
